The following is a “What to Pack?” list for the Kentucky Bourbon Sampler Itinerary. While we have attempted to make this match all activities in the itinerary and be a complete list, we can not guarantee that this is the perfect packing list for everyone. Since everyone has different packing preferences, we encourage you to use this as a guide and alter it as you see fit.
- 3 Comfortable and Stylish Bourbon Tasting Outfits
- You want to be comfortable, but several of the tasting rooms and tours will also be upscale or picturesque.
- Dress the part for any pictures you want to take. Also, dressing accordingly elevates the experience.
- Temperatures vary widely throughout the year. Winters see temperatures under 42°F most of the time. Fall/spring are better with temperatures between 50°F – 70°F. Finally, summers can get warm with temperatures often in the 80°F range.
- 2 Night Outfits
- At the end of the day after touring distilleries, I recommend enjoying the sights, sounds, food, and experiences of Louisville. Therefore, pack a couple of night outfits for going to great restaurants or stopping into a bar.
- Airplane Clothes for the Return Trip
- Shoes
- Comfortable Shoes for Distillery Visits – Wear shoes that match your outfits but are also comfy to walk in. The tours will have a fair amount of walking, and you don’t want your feet hurting halfway through the tours.
- Evening Shoes – Pack shoes that go with your evening outfits. Downtown Louisville is more compact so you won’t have to worry about walking too much if you don’t want to.
- Tennis Shoes – Pack these if you plan to work out/run or if you want to wear them for driving/flying.
- Socks
- Athletic socks – For running/working out
- Casual Socks – Appropriate for distillery visits and evening dress
- Belt(s)
- Sleepwear
- Rain Jacket
- 2-3 Regular Bras, matched to clothing (if required)
- Sports or Athletic Bras (if you plan to run or workout)
- 4 Pairs of Underwear/Boxers
- Jewelry
- Shampoo/Conditioner/Soap (if you don’t like hotel products)
- Hair Brush/Comb
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrush
- Dental Floss
- Deodorant
- Lotion
- Lip Balm
- Razor
- Shaving Cream
- Nail Clippers and/or File
- Medications/Vitamins
- Hand Sanitizer
- Sunscreen and Aloe (if required)
- Feminine Hygiene Products (if required)
- Contact Lenses and Solution (if required)
- Hair Accessories (ties, bobby pins, etc. if required)
- Makeup (if required)
- Basic First Aid Kit (Band-Aids, Neosporin, Ibuprofen, Imodium, etc.)
- Sunglasses
- Pullover
- Kentucky can be crisp in the Fall/Spring. It is downright cold in the winter so you will want to bring more than a pullover if you are traveling in the winter.
- Travel Umbrella
- Backpack
- Highly recommend for carrying water, snacks, reservation information, and other needs around the distilleries.
- Tablet/eReader and Charger
- Phone and Charger
- Headphones
- Refillable Water Bottle(s)
- Drinking lots of water will be your friend while touring the distilleries.
- Luggage Locks
- Extra Space and Padding for Bottles
- If you plan to purchase a bottle or two of bourbon during the trip, make sure you have a plan for transporting them in checked luggage.
